PRIVACY POLICY

PRIVACY IS OUR PRIORITY — NOT A FOOTNOTE

We created Talent256 for young players who have never had a safe place online. Many of you are 15, 16, 17. Your safety matters more than our growth. We will never sell your phone number. We will never show your ID to the public. We will never allow your photos to be misused. This policy explains how we protect you, in simple language.

1. WHO WE ARE — DATA CONTROLLER

Talent256 Discovery is a product owned and operated by Talent256 Group LTD, registered in Uganda. For purposes of data protection laws, Talent256 Group LTD is the Data Controller of your personal information.

2. WHAT WE COLLECT AND WHY

A. Information you give us to be discovered (Public)

Your name, football position, district, village/town, age, gender, height, weight, dominant foot, availability, bio, and your profile photos and action photos. This is shown publicly so clubs can find you. This is the point of the platform.

B. Contact information (Protected)

Your phone number and parent phone if you are under 18. Your phone is NOT shown publicly to everyone. It is only revealed to verified users when they intend to contact you for a football opportunity, and we log that access. We do this to stop spam and protect you.

C. Verification documents (Private — Never Public)

Your ID front and back. This is stored in a private, encrypted storage that only our admin can access for verification. It is NEVER shown on your public profile, NEVER shared with clubs, NEVER posted on TikTok or anywhere else. After verification, you can request deletion.

D. Account and security information

Your email, login, security PIN and security question answer (encrypted). Used to let you edit your profile safely later.

3. HOW WE PROTECT YOUNG PLAYERS (UNDER 18)

• If you are under 18, we require parent or guardian consent and their phone number.
• We advise that any physical trial is attended with a parent or guardian.
• We do not allow direct messaging inside the platform to prevent grooming. Contact is via logged phone reveal.
• We allow anyone to report a fake or suspicious profile, especially involving minors, and we act within 24 hours.
• We comply with Uganda Data Protection and Privacy Act 2019 regarding children's data.

4. WHAT WE NEVER DO

We never sell your phone number, email, or ID to betting companies, advertisers, or third parties.
We never show your ID documents publicly.
We never share your private security PIN or answer.
We never charge you money to keep your profile private or to delete your data.

5. HOW YOUR PHOTOS ARE USED

Your public photos may include a small watermark to prevent others from stealing your photos and claiming you are their player. By creating a profile, you give Talent256 Group LTD permission to show your public photos and videos on talent256.ug, our TikTok @talent256.ug, YouTube, and Instagram to help you get discovered. You keep ownership of your originals. If you want a photo removed, contact us and we will remove it within 48 hours.

6. COOKIES AND ANALYTICS — MINIMAL

We use minimal analytics to count how many times your profile is viewed so you know clubs are seeing you. We do not use aggressive tracking, we do not sell your browsing data, and we do not show third-party ads that track you across the internet.

7. HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR DATA

We keep your public profile active until you ask us to delete it. ID documents are kept only as long as needed for verification and to prevent fraud, and then can be deleted on request. If you delete your profile, we remove your public photos and contact info within 30 days, except where we must keep minimal logs for legal or fraud prevention reasons.

8. YOUR RIGHTS

ACCESS

You can ask what data we have about you.

CORRECT

You can ask us to correct your name, age, district, etc.

DELETE

You can ask us to delete your profile and private ID.

OBJECT

You can object to being featured on TikTok.

To exercise these rights, contact us at legal@talent256.ug or WhatsApp. We will respond within 7 days. For security, we may ask for your PIN and phone to verify you own the profile.

9. SECURITY

We use encrypted storage, private buckets for sensitive documents, and access controls. No system is 100% secure, but we work hard to protect your data. If we discover a serious breach that affects your sensitive data, we will notify you and the relevant authority as required by law.

10. THIRD PARTIES

We use trusted service providers like Supabase for hosting. They are contractually bound to protect your data and cannot use it for their own purposes. We do not share your ID with clubs. We only share what you made public plus your contact method when a verified club requests it.

11. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

If we change this policy, we will post the new date at the top and, for important changes affecting minors or contact visibility, we will notify you via the Platform or email.
